Hake for two

Dear Friends, today I bought hake fish (about 1 Kg) and had it cut into several pieces, which would be the basis of this dish for two people: omega 3 soup for children and fried fish for parents.

Ingredients

Omega 3 soup (2 servings):

  • Liver, eggs and neck of the hake
  • 1 litre of water
  • 1 small zucchini
  • 1 small carrot
  • Pastina
  • Fried fish (2 servings):

Hake fillets for 2 people

  • Milk
  • Flour
  • 2 eggs
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Sunflower oil
  • Salt to taste

Let’s start with the omega 3 soup. Rinse the eggs, liver and neck of the fish and put them to cook in a pot of water. When cooked, pour the mixture into a small bowl by filtering with a strainer. Put the filtered water back into the pot, plus the eggs, the liver and the pulp of the neck, and puree with an electric mixer. Wash the zucchini and peeled carrot, grate them as if they were Parmesan cheese and add them to the stock. Cook for 10 minutes over low heat and then add the pasta. Done, we’ve prepared a soup rich in omega 3s!

Now prepare the fried fish. Wash the hake fillets, cut them into small pieces and let soak in milk for 15 minutes. After that, flour them, pass them in a beaten egg mixture and then in breadcrumbs. Pour sunflower oil (abundant) into a pot, bring it to temperature and cook the fish. When ready, place the fish on two sheets of paper towel to remove the excess oil, put on a plate with a pinch of salt and voilà, ready to be eaten! Bon appètit!
