English Scones

The weekend’s around the corner, it’s raining non-stop, why not uplift the mood with scones for family breakfast? You can make these in the morning, they’re super-quick and only take about 10 mins in the oven.


  • 250 gr flour
  • 50 gr softened butter
  • 25 gr brown sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tsp of baking powder
  • Milk as needed

Pre-heat the oven to 220°C. Combine all ingredients in a bowl, adding the milk last, very slowly, incorporating air. Extend the dough to 2cm in height and using a drinking glass, cut out circles. Place on a baking tray and brush the top with milk. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. You can serve them with jam, nutella, spreadable cheese, ricotta, whatever you like!
