Caged Chicken

This recipe is simple, tasty, appealing and I assure you that you will use it very often.


  • 1 kg of chicken breast
  • 1 pack of rectangular puff pastry
  • 2 zucchini
  • 10 slices of bacon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • 50 gr of sesame seeds

Cut the zucchini into thin slices and grill with a little salt. Take the chicken breast, divide it in two and remove the central bone. Massage the two parts of chicken with salt, pepper and olive oil. Prepare two sheets of cling film and place on it a slice of grilled zucchini alternating with a slice of bacon, lay the chicken on top, wrap it well and let rest in the fridge for a couple of hours. Once cooled, take a pan, add a little oil, a clove of garlic, a bay leaf and cook the two “rolls” over a moderate heat for at least 10 minutes, turning them often. As soon as they are well browned, remove them from the heat and place on a grill to let them lose their excess grease and cool. As soon as the chicken breasts are completely dry, roll out the puff pastry and cut into four rectangles: on the first two lay the rolls and with the other two cut slices with a knife to form a cage. Gently place the cage on top of the chicken, seal the ends and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Transfer onto a pan and bake at 180 degrees for 20 minutes, in a ventilated oven. Have a good meal!
