If you want to take your children on a journey back in time, I assure you that the Toy and Wax Museum of “Pietro Piraino” is the right place.
As soon as you enter the museum doors, the children are enchanted by the immense display of toys, around 1600. They recall many of the games that their grandparents have always described in their stories and realise how the evolution of toys over the years is the mirror of the evolution of man.
For your info… The collection of toys and wax objects exhibited in the museum have been placed under the control of the Region of Sicily, Department of Cultural Heritage, Environmental and P.I., as they are declared to be of enormous demo-ethno-anthropological value.
The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and is located inside the “Certosa di Villa Butera” in Bagheria, one of the most beautiful 18th century villas in the area.
