The “Butterfly House”, inaugurated on the day dedicated to love, is a tropical paradise designed by Enzo Scarso and realised in the gardens of the eighteenth-century Palazzo Belmonte Riso, home to the contemporary and modern regional art museum.
This beautiful winter garden hosts butterflies of all sizes, colours and features – such as the giant Cobra butterfly (Attacus Atlas), characteristic for its bright colours and a wingspan that can reach up to 30cm – and also rare and precious plants.
It was beautiful, I’ve never been in the midst of so many butterflies!
Info… the Butterfly House is open from February 14th to June 14th, Monday to Saturday from 9am till 6pm and on Sundays and holidays from 10am till 7pm. The ticket cost for children ages 4 to 12 is €4, for children ages 13 to 18 € 5, while for adults it’s €8.
